ABSTRACT
Pinching simply regards with the increase in the number of primary and secondary branches and which influences in increase in yield. The major problem of the farmer in Nepal is the low yield even when the use of fertilizer is high. An experiment was conducted in ‘California Wonder’ variety to find how pinching affect in the growth as well other attributes of Capsicum annum in Suryanagar, Chitwan. An experiment was conducted with seven treatment conducting pinching at 25th, 30th, 35th, 30th and 40th, 45th, 35th and 45th DAT and control with three replication was performed in Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD). Among the treatment conducted pinching at 35th day followed by 35th and 45th day produced more number of primary and secondary branches in comparison with other treatment. The highest yield was obtained in pinching at 35th DAT. Pinching performed at 30th DAP, 45th DAP and no pinching produced the lowest yields, suggesting that pinching too early or too late may not be beneficial.
